AGOA EXPERT URGES AMCHAM MEMBERS TO GRAB TRADE OPPORTUNITIES Abou Fall, Africa Growth and Opportunities Act (AGOA) services manager at the West Africa Trade Hub in Accra, Ghana, has urged members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone (Amcham SL) to grab trade opportunities with a view to enhancing trade and investment between Africa and the United States. Mr. Fall was speaking to members of Amcham SL at the monthly Executive Briefing hosted by the chamber at the Beccles-Davies Memorial Hall, on Gloucester Street in the centre business district of Freetown. The Senegalese-born expert on AGOA was the keynote speaker at the event on 30th January 2013, devoted to demystifying the operation and rationale of AGOA. He revealed that AGOA was a conduit through which doors to the American market could be opened to African (Sierra Leonean) entrepreneurs. He maintained that opportunities, such as the Open Sky Agreement - signed last year between the United States government and Sierra Leone to formalise the liberalisation of aviation relationship between both countries - was key to stimulating economic growth and development in Sierra Leone.
